Cycling in the snow

I just don’t know about cycling in the snow. I know a number of people who live for riding in this weather; well, I don’t know them personally but I have heard of that type of thing. I have a couple of thoughts that dominate my thinking when I contemplate riding up to the grocery store. One is attire – do I own enough clothes to keep me warm and two – how will I steer the bike if I can neither see nor feel the handle bars.
Fortunately, I am able to work from home, which means I don’t have to drive up 36 or on a day like this crawl up out of Boulder and then engage in a controlled slide on the other side. But there are times when I do need to get out and feel like I should ride to my destination but am freaked by the idea of riding on ice.
I know you can get snow tires for your bike and there are hip and trendy clothes to keep you warm and visible but no where can you buy coordination.
